Timber Valley Retreat | Private Woodland Cabin Getaway

Kathy and Tom are the most incredible hosts! They are open and available. Happy to help you get settled in, allow you time with their beautiful dogs, and both are all-around wonderful human beings. They offered us a hayride around their town, but the rain had other plans. My daughter and I spent 3 wonderful days, lounging by the fire, cooking on the fire, exploring the enchanted forest (which looks like it is straight out of a movie!), hiking the area, and kayaking on the Potomac River. My daughter even took a cold plunge on the coolest little pond area on the property. Don't even get me started on THE CABINS!!! That woodsy, delicious out in nature smell, with all the comforts of your own room.... cozy mattresses, sleeps a lot of people, adorable lofts, air and heat!!!! What more could you ask for!!! I can not wait to bring my whole family here for a week next summer! But, I will most likely sneek some weekends in before then:-)

We could not have asked for a better place for our group getaway at Timber Valley Retreat. We had four small families with kids ranging in age from 9 to 13, and the property was absolutely perfect for a group like ours. The cabins were incredibly spacious, comfortable, and beautifully set up. The AC was ice cold, which was especially appreciated in the summer heat, and every one of us slept incredibly well. With multiple families sharing the property, having plenty of space to spread out made the entire experience feel easy and relaxing. But what really made the stay special was being able to slow down and enjoy everything the property and surrounding area had to offer. We spent afternoons taking cold plunges in the spring-fed pond, which quickly became a favorite activity for both the kids and adults. We also packed up a full day’s worth of food and drinks and headed down to the Potomac, where we spent hours lounging on a flotilla of rafts we brought along. It was exactly the kind of summer day you hope for when planning a family getaway. And then there were the thunderstorms. Sitting together under the tin awning listening to the rain come down was one of those unexpectedly memorable moments that you just can’t manufacture. Everyone was together, completely relaxed, listening to the storm roll through while staying perfectly dry. Timber Valley Retreat gave us the perfect combination of comfort, adventure, and the opportunity to simply unplug and enjoy time together. The kids had an absolute blast, the adults actually got to relax, and there was plenty of space for everyone. We left already talking about when we could come back. Highly recommend Timber Valley Retreat for anyone looking for a memorable group or family getaway. We will absolutely be back!

Welcoming and spacious for all invitees and we did not even have a chance to explore all the areas that were surrounding as it was a work related trip but will get out there at some later point for a completely relaxing stay for sure

We had such a wonderful time staying at this cabin with our family! It was the perfect mix of comfort and peace, and we truly felt like we were at a home away from home. The cabins were stocked with just about everything you might need, which was a huge relief in case we forgot something. It made packing (and relaxing!) so much easier.One of the best parts, it’s pet friendly! We brought our two puppies along, and they had the best time exploring and relaxing with us. The hosts were amazing; very responsive, friendly, and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about their guests’ experience.We’re already planning to come back again, and hope to make this an annual family tradition, maybe even twice a year! Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing, relaxing time. We came with 4 adults, 3 teenagers and 3 dogs. The cabins were perfect and none of us had slept any better anywhere else. The amenities were in par and we had evening we needed. We came when it was so hot in July but the shade helped, the cool pond and access to the river in which we swam and kayaked in everyday. The air conditioning in the cabins kept us cool at night. Our pups were so worn out by evening from running around and playing in the water. We are already planning our return trip. It was the perfect place to recharge our batteries.
